Gilbert and Gubar's The Madwoman in the Attic after Thirty Years

That Scandalous Summer - Meredith Duran I liked a lot about this, especially the unconventional heroine, but the ending is too screwball comedy for what comes before. Also, a medium at a house party foretells the Holocaust (great war, Germans, gas, trains), which seemed a poor choice even when I assumed it was to make some romantic prophecy plausible. But no. It's just ... a random invocation of the Holocaust. Um, okay.
